THE PROBLEM
White people have become more aware that racism is a problem, and that there is a lot of work that needs to be done to create an anti-racist society.
Yet when it comes to it, it’s uncomfortable to sit down with people who don’t look like us to discuss their experiences of, for example, being Black in America.
How can we begin to solve problems of racism, unless we hear directly from the people who understand the problems the most?
(ONE OF) THE SOLUTION(S)
Voices From Next Door is a simple exercise.
It's conversation.
And yet conversation is one of the most powerful ways to connect and acknowledge our humanity, to understand our differences, and begin to chip away at the pervasive problems we have in our personal, professional, and society’s systemic intersections with race.
This project allows more people to easily access real life stories about ways race plays a part in everyday life in America.
Won’t you join us on the journey?
